Hello! It's Misty.  I have to say that if you have NOT read Notes from the Midnight Driver - you must!  I recommended it to my daughter and to my mom.  It has life lessons appropriate for ALL!  :) Happy Teen Reading Week!

Howdy!! It's Lydia. I'm looking forward to working with everyone on this project. I've also made a Wiki Page for my 8th grade Advanced Contemporary Literature Units we are collaborating on together. Woot Woot, we'll see how this works out. I'll keep you informed. Cya l8er. hehe

Hey there!  I was looking over Sharon's questions about the Book Idol and here are my thoughts:

  • I think it would be fun to get a district winner, but to keep things less complicated, maybe each campus should vote their own winner.
  • As for the book picks, I like the idea of having the students nominate their two favorite books which have to be books from our library. Then more or less following the steps that were in the email, with the exception of involving coaches, admin, etc to "perform" booktalks on the finalists.

Lydia, I love the idea of setting up a wiki for students....maybe for book clubers.  I may be asking for your help!

Oops, it's Jeanie.  I didn't know it wouldn't have  my name somewhere.

10/31/07 : I just signed up for 3 Book Idol titles: Notes From the Midnight Driver, Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life, and Shug !  :)
Sorry I have missed the planning meetings.  They have fallen on dates that I already have central office meetings that I am unable
to miss.  Keep me in the loop - this sounds like lots of FUN!   ~Misty~
